Making Revision
What is the purpose of conducting a revision?
Revising gives students an opportunity to reflect
on what they’ve written. Revising is a way to learn about the craft of writing.
Revision is closely tied to critical reading; in order to revise a piece
conceptually, students must be able to reflect on whether their message matches
their writing goal.
Why is
revising and proofreading important to writing?
To be simply put, Proofreading is the final stage
of the editing process, focusing on surface errors such as misspellings and
mistakes in grammar and punctuation. Proofreading is important to ensure that
there is not any: Grammatical error, Capitalization error, Numbering error.
What is a
major focus of revision?
Revision literally means to “see again,” to look at
something from a fresh, critical perspective. It is an ongoing process of
rethinking the paper: reconsidering your arguments, reviewing your evidence,
refining your purpose, reorganizing your presentation, reviving stale prose.
Revision literally means to “see again” or to
basically see something again from a fresh and critical perspective. One of the
best things to do during the revision stage is to have someone else proof read
the material for you.
Why
studying at night is bad?
According to a study by Texas A&M Medical
College, it was observed that studying late into the night can result in a
sharp decrease in performance for specific learning and memory tasks. Our peak
cognitive efficiency happens earlier in the day and by studying late night
we’re fighting against our natural body clock.
