DO BETTER IN RECITATION AND READING QURAN – PART 3
12. Learning Vocabulary and Meaning of the Quranic
Words
Understanding the meaning and context of Quranic
words is instrumental in fostering fluency. Begin by learning the meanings of
frequently occurring words, phrases, and concepts in the Quran.
For example, focus on words that repeatedly appear
in various chapters such as “Allah,” “Rahman,” “Nur,” etc. Additionally, grasp
the contextual usage of these words within verses and chapters. Connecting the
Arabic vocabulary with their English translation aids in better comprehension,
thereby enabling a more fluent and emotionally connected recitation.
13.
Learn Some Vocabulary
In
previous emails, I shared with you the quickest, easiest, most effective way to
understand the entire Quran in Arabic. If you want to get hold of the free
online web-class where I explain how to do it, visit www.quranforbusypeople.com/plan The
key to the whole process of understanding the Quran is to learn Quranic
vocabulary lists. If you learn around 300 words, that accounts for about 70% of
the entire Quran.
14. Practice Regularly and with Sincerity:
Like any skill, beautiful Quranic recitation
requires consistent practice. Set aside dedicated time each day for recitation
and practice. Focus on the areas where you need improvement, whether it’s
pronunciation, Tajweed rules, or emotional expression. Additionally, recite
with sincerity and devotion, as the intention behind your recitation plays a
significant role in the beauty of your delivery. Remember that the Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The one who is proficient in the recitation
of the Quran will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels), and he
who recites the Quran and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to
recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward.”
15. Learn
Rules
You
must learn Tajweed as it should be learned. If you don’t know tajweed it means
to improve the recitation. Rules and regulations are very much helpful in the
recitation of the Quran. You must learn Quran with Tajweed but it’s not
necessary. If you’re just getting started with it. It indicates that you are
uniquely studying the Quran.
16. Put the Quran in an Elevated Position
The Holy Quran has a high status. This is why you
must place it in a high place while learning to read it word by word or during
recitation. Many people use a clean pillow for this purpose, which is something
you can also try doing if you do not own a wooden book rest specifically for
reading the Quran.
17. Seek Feedback and Corrections
Regularly seek feedback from knowledgeable
individuals or Quranic teachers. Constructive feedback is essential for
improvement. If possible, recite in front of someone who is well-versed in
Tajweed and Quranic recitation. They can identify areas for improvement,
correct any mistakes, and provide guidance on refining your recitation.
Constructive criticism is a valuable tool for honing your skills and achieving
a more beautiful recitation.
18. Do Not Talk During Quran Recitation
Before you begin reading the Quran, make sure to eliminate each distraction that might distract you from reading the Quran. This includes mobile phones and even talking to other people. Keeping a distance from worldly affairs is to prevent being influenced by Satan.
