DO BETTER IN RECITATION AND READING QURAN – PART 2
6. Slow Down First and Focus on Rhythm
Slowing down your recitation pace is a fundamental
step towards enhancing fluency. Emphasize the natural pauses and rhythm within
verses by paying attention to punctuation marks or natural breaks. Start by
reciting at a comfortable, slower pace to ensure correct pronunciation and
rhythm.
Take brief pauses at the end of each verse to
comprehend its meaning, allowing the rhythm and flow to integrate naturally.
This deliberate practice of slowing down encourages a smoother transition
between verses, leading to increased fluency over time.
7.
Intelligent Repetition – The Mother of All Skill.
Here
is a trick that will double or triple your effectiveness and speed at reading
the Quran. Let’s say you’ve decided to recite two pages of the Quran after Isha
every night and 2 pages before you leave for work in the morning. Instead of
reciting the first 2 pages on day one morning and the next 2 pages on day one
night, try this out. On day one morning, recite page 1, then recite page 1
again. Then on day one evening, recite page 1 again, and again. “But then I’ll
only have done one page?!” I hear you exclaiming.
8. Understand the Meaning and Context
Beautiful recitation of the Quran is not just about
the sound but also about conveying the meaning and emotions of the verses. Take
the time to understand the meanings of the verses you are reciting. Reflect on
the context, themes, and lessons conveyed by the Quranic passages. This deeper
understanding will allow you to recite with sincerity and convey the intended
message with the appropriate emotional tone, enhancing the beauty of your
recitation.
9. Pronunciation
From
letters to words and words to sentences. From sentences to surahs and surahs to
chapter all creates the Holy Quran. You should first learn how to recite the
letters. It will assist you in reciting well and getting rewards for each word
from Allah. You must practice as much as you can. Recite it again and again at
least three to four times a day. This will lead to a greater level of
comprehension, very much fewer errors, and the rewards will be higher.
10. Proper recitation takes precedence over humble
contemplation.
Imagine someone who learned to pray as an adult.
Would you advise them to do whatever made them feel more spiritual even if
their prayers were invalid? Humble contemplation will come later. As a student,
focus on correct pronunciation.
11. Sit in a Respectable Manner While Reading the
Quran
Due to the fact that Quranic text has been revealed
from the Almighty Allah Himself, one should pay due to admiration for it
through sitting
in a decent manner.
You should always choose a considerate position while holding the Holy Quran in your hands, demonstrating the high opinion you have for our Sacred Book.
