IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING FRENCH – PART 3

7. French opens up an entire world of sporting events to enthusiasts.

French is always an official language used to announce events, winners, and medals at the Olympic Games. In Canada you can also follow hockey and baseball games in French. Automobile races (Le Mans and Monte Carlo), horse racing (Longchamps), tennis tournaments (French Open), and the Tour de France engage fans around the globe. When you know French, the international world of sports is open to you.

8. Access to rich culture, literature, music, and movies

French is most times described as the language of an enduring and unique culture. It is the language of international fashion, visual arts, theatre, dance, architecture, and more. Learning French exposes you to a world of affluent literature in original French, including their music and movies. There is a wide range of quality French movies and TV shows to improve your French for your viewing pleasure. Watching these films and TV-Series without reading subtitles is a great way to learn this fascinating language.

9. Learning French will help you learn other languages

The more languages you know, the easier it is to learn them. This is science! A lot of studies have shown that once you’ve learned a language, the next one is easier to learn: the more you learn, the easier it gets. When you learn a language, you also learn a complete set of skills: grammar mechanics, memorisation through vocabulary, reading skills, speaking skills, pronunciation, comprehension skills, writing skills, communication skills and so on. There are a lot of advantages to learning a new language and it definitely helps your brain.
French especially helps you:

It is a medium leveled language (meaning it is not easy but not too hard to learn too!) and will surely help you get advanced grammar concepts as well as train you on how to manipulate them to make sentences. Once you’ve used to it, it gets easier to learn other languages with the same features.
